China-Botswana Business Forum

On August 31, 2018, China-Botswana Business Forum was held in Beijing, Botswana's President Mokgvich Masisi led an economic and trade delegation to attend the meeting and delivered a speech to introduce Botswana's economic, trade and investment policies and arrange face-to-face exchanges between enterprises of the two sides.

President Masisi of Botswana declared the official opening of the forum and delivered a keynote speech, saying that holding talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and attending the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) have enabled Botswana to see the development opportunities and embark on the win-win road, and he looked forward to the trade and investment between the two countries to be further advanced.

In his speech, Masisi said that Botswana and China share the same pursuit of the concept of maintaining world peace and promoting global prosperity. As a member of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), Botswana has always believed in strengthening cooperation with China, and in the future, it will focus on building bridges of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries and establishing ties of friendship linking the two peoples.

"In recent years, trade exchanges between Botswana and China have grown steadily, and Botswana has always been committed to creating a favorable investment environment for Chinese enterprises, and sincerely welcomes everyone to invest in Botswana." Masisi emphasized that China's reform and opening up and economic development achievements have set a good example for other developing countries, and Botswana will take advantage of the "Belt and Road" construction to actively learn from China's experience, innovate its economic development model, and continuously improve its competitiveness.
